Town Council April 6 Proclamations

– Town Council adopted a proclamation declaring April as Fair Housing Month in the Town of Mammoth Lakes.

– Town Council adopted a proclamation declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

– Town Council adopted a proclamation declaring April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Town Council Awards Contract to build 60 Joaquin Housing Project 

On April 6, Town Council awarded the design-build contract to MMI Consulting LLC for a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $2,420,000. As part of the Town’s Housing Now! initiative, the Town purchased the property to develop additional affordable housing units. The 9,148 SF parcel is zoned RMF-1 and with density bonuses can accommodate four units. Total project cost is $2,662,980 (land, concept development, and construction). The development plan focused on creating for sale units targeting moderate income families or what is often referred to as “missing middle” income households. Advanced Airlines Summer Flight Schedule 

Fly with Advanced Airlines this summer from Burbank (BUR), Hawthorne (HHR) or Carlsbad (CLD) directly into Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH). Summer service begins June 16 and runs through September 12, 2022. Book by May 30, 2022 and fly by September 12, 2022 and get an extra 20% of flights from Hawthorne and Carlsbad by using the code: EARLYBIRD20. 

Parks and Recreation Department Update

Open-registration for all camps, swim lessons and programs will open at 8:00am on Monday, April 11. The annual Spring Egg and Candy Hunt will begin promptly at 3.15pm at Shady Rest Park on Friday, April 15. There will be separate areas for pre-schoolers (4 & under), Grades TK-1, and Grades 2-5. Don’t’ be late – eggs go fast! Registration is now OPEN for Little Sluggers – an instructional T-Ball program for children aged 2-5 yrs. The program begins April 27 and is held at Shady Rest Park on Wednesday. Click here for additional information for the many Parks and Recreation spring programs. 

Town COVID-19 Update

Masks are still required at all times on public transportation (including airports, planes, trains, buses, stations, etc.) into, within, or out of the U.S. through at least April 18th. Last week’s case rate for Mono County was 3.1. Positivity is hovering around 4%. OptumServe Testing is now at Fire Station 2 (1574 Old Mammoth Road), from 11am-7pm Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Click here for additional COVID-19 information.
