MAMMOTH CREEK PARK BOULDER MAINTENANCE

A rep from Entre Prise, the boulder manufacturer for the Mammoth Creek Park climbing boulder, was out this week to complete some maintenance. Earlier this year some damage and cracking on the boulder was identified, most likely caused by settling after installation and normal wear and tear. Repairs included removing and replacing chipped sections, re-fiberglassing cracks, fixing the access panel, and touching up paint.

SEWER LINE REHAB

A portion of the Town Loop multi-use path near Mammoth Creek was closed this week as Mammoth Community Water District (MCWD) and its contractor performed much-needed sewer line rehabilitation. The section was behind Cerro Coso Community College and the Mammoth Lakes Library, and the closure was in effect on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Thursday, Oct. 8. Thank you to all who navigated around this closure with the detour.

YEAR-ROUND AIR SERVICE

Year-round air service took off last month between the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport in Bishop (BIH) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This milestone reflects a coordinated effort among regional partners to expand travel connectivity to the Eastern Sierra. United Airlines now operates the route on a four-season schedule – four days a week in spring and fall, and daily in summer and winter – following the airline’s shift from seasonal to year-round operation. Winter seasonal flights will continue to operate daily between Denver (DEN) and BIH. The Town is part of the Eastern Sierra Air Alliance (ESAA), which is the group of local government and tourism organizations that works together to develop and sustain commercial air service across our region.
