Town Council Meeting Items – April 3, 2024 

  • Town Council will consider a proclamation declaring April as Fair Housing Month.
  • Town Council has scheduled a workshop with the Eastern Sierra Community Housing Board of Directors (formerly Mammoth Lakes Housing).
  • Town Council will hold a Public Hearing for the Cell Tower Appeal located at 1574 Old Mammoth Road.
  • Town staff will present the preliminary revenue budget for FY 2024/25 to the Town Council, with a primary focus on the General Fund.
  • Town Council will consider a letter of support renaming a section of HWY 395 the “Dave McCoy Memorial HWY.”

Air Service Update

  • Good news! United Airlines has extended its service to San Francisco (SFO) through April 14. Additionally, summer service to San Francisco via United will run daily from July 1 – September 2, 2024.
  • Advanced Airlines also announced its summer service which will fly to Hawthorne – LAX (HHR) and Carlsbad (CLD) Fridays and Sundays from June 28 through September 2, 2024.
  • Advanced Airlines will have a special holiday flight on July 3 from both locations. Winter flights on Advanced are scheduled to operate through April 29, 2024

Mammoth Hospital Partners with Town to Promote Skater Safety! 

  • The Town would like to recognize the Mammoth Hospital for generously sponsoring the FREE helmet rental program at LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes.
  • To promote skater safety, the Mammoth Hospital purchased 50 Giro rental helmets which are complimentary to every skater at LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes. On your next visit, simply ask staff for a free helmet for you and your family of skaters!
  • Make sure to wear a helmet every time you skate – Mammoth Hospital can fix everything else!

Spring Storm Update

  • National Weather Service Reno has posted a Winter Storm Warning from 11am, Friday (3/29) to 5pm Sunday (3/31). Heavy snow is forecast with 6-12 inches of snow along the HWY 395 corridor, including Mammoth Lakes, with up to 30 inches possible along the Sierra crest. Winds are forecast to gust as high as 40 mph.
