Town Council Meeting Action Items for January 7, 2026

Town Council adopted their Strategic Priorities for 2026 and received a presentation from the Town Manager on proposed mid-year staff adjustments.

Propane Safety and Your Home

Recent heavy snow accumulations and freezing temperatures in Mammoth Lakes mean it’s time to check your home’s propane system. Make sure all propane pipes, valves, regulators, and tanks are clear of snow and ice. DO NOT bury your tank or the connection to your house with snow from your roof or when removing snow with equipment. Remember that heavy accumulations of snow or ice falling on tanks, regulators, meters, piping, or valves may cause damage that could result in a gas leak, so please check your system. To find the pipes, meters and valves that connect to your home, look for the reflector on the side of the structure. That will indicate that your system is below. If you smell gas in your home, immediately put out all smoking materials and other open flames. Do not operate lights, appliances, telephones, or cell phones. Flames or sparks from these sources can trigger an explosion or a fire. LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY and call 9-1-1 from an alternative location. DO NOT RETURN TO THE BUILDING OR THE AREA until it is safe to do so. For additional information about propane safety contact the Mammoth Lakes Fire Protection District at (760) 934-2300.
