The Lone Pine JV Boys hosted the Bishop JV Boys basketball team Friday night and it was a thriller. The Eagles’ game plan was to try to limit Will Kemp’s ability to drive to the basket creating his own shots and shots for his teammates. The plan worked for three quarters. The Eagles played tremendous defense limiting not only Kemp but Bishop’s two very tough big men to 27 points through three quarters. Fransisco Castro led the Eagles all night with his excellent defensive play. At the end of three the Eagles were up 28-27. Just 10 days earlier in Bishop the Broncos had a 20 point lead on Lone Pine through three quarters. In the fourth quarter Bishop’s big men proved to be too much for the Eagles. Dondero and Mitchell combined for 12 of Bishop’s 17 fourth quarter points to take the game 44-36. For the Eagles Tommy Fogerty once again was a beast. He dominated the boards bringing down 11 rebounds while adding 10 points. Noah Quezada led the Eagles with 15 points while managing the offense all night. “I was very impressed by how well our team played against a very tough Bishop team,” Coach Scott Kemp commented. “It was again very special for me to coach against my brother and nephew. Of course, I wish our team could have come away with a W, I’m sure I’ll be hearing it during the Holiday Break. We are getting better every game and that’s all I can ask for.”

Noah Quezada – 15 points & 3 steals
Tommy Fogerty – 10 points & 11 rebounds
Anthony Guerra – 3 assists & 4 steals
