Local Volunteers to Clean Up Owens River on Sept. 20 As Part of 41st Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day

ESLT, Caltrans Partnering to Remove Litter & Improve Local Waterway

What: Local volunteers to join Caltrans for a river cleanup on the 41st Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day. The cleanup is among hundreds being organized statewide and comes before heavy autumn rains can wash trash, debris and other waste into area waterways.

Volunteers are invited to register here.

When: Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025 9:00 a.m. to noon

Where: Artesian Wells Off East Line Street (East of Bishop, CA)

Visuals:

  • Trash and pollutants being cleaned from the banks of the Owens River
  • Community cleanup volunteers and local organizations, including Eastern Sierra Land Trust, Friends of the Inyo, and Caltrans
