Fish Fire Update
A wildfire dubbed the “Fish Fire” has erupted about a quarter mile south of Fish Springs Hatchery, engulfing approximately 10 acres of land. The blaze is currently 0% contained, but firefighters are on scene.
Believed to have been triggered by a downed power line, the fire prompted Southern California Edison (SCE) to de-energize power lines in the area as a precautionary measure. With containment efforts ongoing and the situation evolving rapidly, authorities stress the importance of remaining vigilant and following safety directives.
Update: According to Lindsay Stine at the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office, the spread of the fire has been contained and mop up will take several hours.
