Fatal single-vehicle rollover

DEATH VALLEY, Calif. – A 46-year-old man from Death Valley died in a single-vehicle rollover in Death Valley National Park sometime before 5:30am on June 13. The accident occurred on CA-190 just east of North Highway.

“It might surprise people that the leading cause of death in Death Valley National Park is vehicle accidents,” said Superintendent Mike Reynolds. “Sad events like this are too common.” This is the second fatal vehicle accident in the park this year.

Park rangers urge drivers not to drive if they are tired and to obey the speed limit.
