UPDATE 2/12: Eggcellent news! High Country Market and Hardware has just finished a major restock on eggs! Roll on down and get them while they’re available.

UPDATE 2/10: The 24-packs have sold out. Check back for updates on restocking.

The bird flu is spreading across the U.S. at a staggering pace. Because of this, we have seen a major shortage in eggs lately, which has caused the price to go up significantly. In December of 2024, the average cost of a dozen Grade A large eggs was $4.15, up from $3.65 in November, marking a 36.8% increase over the previous year. The USDA has warned that there could be an increase of another 20% by the middle of 2025.

In some places, we have seen a dozen eggs selling for nearly $9. This impacts not only day-to-day customers at grocery stores, but restaurants who have eggs on their menu. Some businesses have even put purchase limits on eggs to manage supply shortages.

But fear not, dear reader. While the hen house appears to be empty, we here at ESN have scrambled to find you the absolute best rock bottom prices on eggs that we could. We almost cracked up, as the search kept yielding high prices nearly everywhere we visited. However, we found a treasure trove of eggs that wonā€™t break the bank.

High Country Market and Hardware Chevron has two dozen eggs for $10.99. Thatā€™s right: two dozen. These will go fast, but we will update you as they gets more in.

Two dozen per person, please. First come, first served. DO NOT CALL.

High Country Market and Hardware Chevron is located at 101 N. Main Street in Big Pine.

That’s because they sold out of the $10.99 24 packs. Probably because of the article.

You may have missed the boat, but it doesn’t mean the info was false. Also, it looks like it has been updated with new info.
