Eastern Sierra Pride QueeReaders Book Club is back!

QueeReaders Book Club is back

This is a low obligation book club, which means that you don’t have to read every book, and if you don’t finish a book, I would still absolutely love to have y’all pop by to chat about what you have read so far! (even if you hated it)
To ease into things, we are starting with poetry! You only need to come with a poem or two that speaks to you (or even some of your own). There isn’t any set book this month, but here are some recommendations:
-
Nepantla: An Anthology Dedicated to Queer Poets of Color by Christopher Soto
-
Night Sky with Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong
-
even this page is white by Vivek Shraya
-
To name a few poets: Terisa Siagatonu, Sappho, Mary Oliver, Allen Ginsberg…
When: Monday May 12th, 6pm
Where: Spellbinder Books
I would like to see who’s around and what people are interested in, so after this first meet up a schedule of upcoming books and dates will be made available!
If you have any questions/comments or fun book themed ideas, please send them here: [email protected]
If you have any book requests, put them on this google sheet (previously read books are on there as well).
I look forward to meeting you fellow bookwyrms!
– Nikki H.
