Here is Carly’s Reaction to the News on Facebook.

“I cannot believe i am writing this out right now… I AM OFFICIALLY GOING TO THE OLYMPICS IN BEIJING NEXT MONTH!!!!!!

I have been trying to process this news for a few days now and i’m still in shock. If you’ve been following me for a while now you would know the countless amounts of setbacks i have had over the years. No matter how hard these setbacks have been, I have always had a dream ever since I was a little girl that I would one day represent the US in the Olympics. I have had many people in my life tell me to quit and move on but that dream would not allow me to quit. I persevered through so much pain and struggle because I knew it would one day pay off. and now we’re here and i just can’t believe it. I cannot even express how grateful i am.
Throughout my career, one of my main goals was to be able to leave an impact on the next generation. However with all of my injuries I always thought, ‘How the heck am I going to leave an impact on anyone? I just keep getting hurt. There’s no way I am going to be able to compete on the world stage like that. There’s no way I could make an impact on anyone.’ But I don’t believe that anymore. I believe that the impact I can leave on people is the story I have to tell of rising above it all and persevering.
I owe all of my gratitude and respect to every single person that has played a role on my path thus far ❤️
LETS DO THIS THING”

“I ain’t giving up because I have had 6 knee surgeries! That only motivates me more to come back and prove all the doubters wrong.”61529367 1638366743409618 r
