State Route 266 in Mono County Closed Due to Vehicle Fire
MONO COUNTY — Caltrans District 9 has closed State Route 266 in southeast Mono County due to a vehicle fire involving a big rig. The truck is blocking both lanes of traffic approximately three miles south of the Nevada State Line. Due to the remote location of the incident, Caltrans estimates it may take up to six hours or more to remove the truck and reopen the roadway.
Detours have been set up for motorists traveling through SR 266. For vehicles heading northbound, maintenance crews have set up a detour on State Route 168 E to U.S. 395. Vehicles traveling southbound in Nevada will want to use U.S. 6 to get around the closure.
For the latest information on road closures, please visit the Caltrans QuickMap site at quickmap.dot.ca.gov or download the app to your smartphone. You can also call the Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).
