Cummings Valley Left Turn Lane Project to Start Thursday on State Route 202
TEHACHAPI – Work is scheduled to begin Thursday, October 6, on the Cummings Valley Left Turn Lane Project on State Route 202 west of the city of Tehachapi in Kern County. This construction project will widen the roadway up to 17 feet from 0.3 miles west of the eastern intersection with Cummings Valley Road to Banducci Road and create a left turn lane for southbound SR 202 traffic at the eastern intersection with Cummings Valley Road.
The approximately $1 million project is scheduled for 45 working days and will utilize local materials. There will be one-way traffic control with automatic traffic lights through the project area and drivers may experience 20-minute delays. The closure will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
