BUHS JV Mathletes Win Again

JV Mathletes Win Again

The Bishop JV Mathletes left their competition in the dust with 28 points on Wednesday, November 19th. Silver Valley earned second with 19 points and Boron landed third with 15 points.
Bishop excelled as a team, and also individual BUHS students took most of the top placements. Tulika Deb and Banyan Fulkerson placed second overall with 6 points while Liam Livingston and Ali Rainville shared third place with 5 points each. Hazel Hays received fourth place with 4 points. Also contributing to the team were freshman captains Santi Lopez and Kevin Rivas, along with Mathletes Cynthia Chavez, Julia Hoang, Nelson Mendiola, Roberto Reyes, Meika Borow, Kaitlyn Girardin, William Gratz, Cosmo Schwartz, and Augie Warburton.
The problem sets were particularly challenging compared to the previous meet when Bishop took home 40 points. Here’s one of the problems.

Coach DeeDee Buchholz says, “This is such a fun team! They all work hard and are having fun learning together and working as a team. I can’t wait to see how they do at the next Meet in January!”
