BUHS Girls Tennis hosted Kern Valley on Thursday. This was the last HDL match for Senior Presley Carr and she came through with one of the only 3 points won by the Broncos. “I’m proud of how Presley has grown and improved,” said Coach Cummings. “Last year she only played doubles but this year she worked her way up to the #5 spot in singles.”

The final score of the match was 3-6. Bishop scored a point due to a default from KV’s #1 singles player.

The other point scored from the day came from Freshman Xitlaly Solorio who played doubles at the beginning of the season but improved enough to take the #6 spot in singles. She won 6-4 tied her second set 6-6 and won the tie-break 7-3 to win that set.

Other scores for singles included Scout Osland 2-6 1-6 Dani Carr almost won. She won 6-2 5-7 then lost her tie-break 7-10. Lucia Elia also played a great match, improving her past scores 5-7 and 4-6.

In doubles Sydney Norcross and Harshvi Raulji lost 1-6 0-6. Cadence Nott and Ania Durham 1-6 3-6. The # 3 doubles of Amelia Winter and Sofia Ablanedo were close but just lost with scores of 2-6 5-7.

The team finished 2-4 in league.

Bishop will host the HIgh Desert League Individual Finals on Thursday where the top 2 singles players and doubles teams will compete against the 3 other schools in a single elimination tournament starting at 11 am. Bishop will be represented in singles by Scout Osland and Dani Carr. The doubles will be Cadence Nott and Ania Durham and Destanee Barajas and Mia Montano.
