Bishop Broncos Varsity Softball Lose 9-15 to Exeter in First Round of CIF

Bishop, seeded 15th, traveled to Exeter, CA to play the 2nd seed in the first round of CIF on Thursday 5/14. Bishop lost 9 to 15.
Sadie Mairs started on the mound pitching 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing 13 runs on 7 hits, 9 walks, 1 hit by pitch and 3 strike outs, with 4 earned runs.
Ginger Lowden came in relief and faced 6 batters and allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits, and 1 hit batter.
Offensively, Bishop out hit Exeter, 13 to 10. They had 7 earned runs and left 8 runners on base.
Starting short stop senior Katya Fierro was injured in 1st inning by an overthrow by an Exeter player and was replaced by sophomore Avery McGraw.
1st Baseman Tannyr Ludwick was 4 for 4 with 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 stolen base, 6RBIs and 1 run scored.
2nd Baseman Faye Spoonhunter was 2 for 3 with 1 sacrifice bunt, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Shortstop Avery McGraw was 2 for 3 with 1 walk and 2 runs scored.
3rd baseman/relief pitcher Ginger Lowden was 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored.
Centerfielder Cambrie Lanphear was 1 for 4 with 1 stolen base and 1 run scored.
Catcher Ellie Boyd was 1 for 3, 1 hit by pitch.
Left fielder Braydee Momberg had a sacrifice bunt, reached on an error and scored 1 run.
Bishop had a solid game and the score does not reflect what a good game they had.
