Bishop Broncos Varsity Girls Soccer Moves to CIF Semifinals After 6-0 Victory Against Reedley

On February 15, 2024 Bishop Lady Broncos hosted the D3 Reedley Pirates in the CIF Division 4 quarterfinals. Approximately 6 1/2 minutes in to the game sophomore Jillian Veenker started the team off and found the back of the net. Approximately 15 minutes later Brooklyn Braaten took a penalty kick and scored the second goal. The first half ended with the score of 2 to 0.

The Bishop Broncos made adjustments at halftime and came out swinging when Jillian Veenker scored her second goal from an Ellie Crall pass at approximately seven minutes in the second half.

Freshman Kylie Acree scored two back to back goals each from an Ellie Crall pass. Alyssa Buchholz scored the final goal of the game with six minutes left on the clock. The final score was 6 to 0.

Riley Van Nest was in net and did a great job on a couple of breakaway scoring opportunities. The defense worked as a unit and limited the number of shots on goal during the entire game.

The Bishop Lady Broncos move to the semifinals where they will host Mission College Prep Royals on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at John Schwab field . The time is currently scheduled to start at 6:00 but is subject to change.
