Bishop Broncos Varsity Football Stand 7-2 Overall, 4-0 in HDL with 63-6 Win Over Desert
The Broncos improve to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in High Desert League play with a 63-6 win over Desert Friday night. The Broncos wrap up the regular season with a trip to rival Kern Valley Halloween night. In the win vs Desert Elliott Douda returned a punt for a touchdown to get the scoring started. David Smith blocked a Desert punt setting up a touchdown pass from Emory Dondero to Levi Derr. Dondero then connected with Carlos Sualez for a touchdown extending the lead. Freshman Dom Barlow then took over at quarterback and scored the first of three rushing touchdowns on the night. Runningback Jaxon White added a touchdown and Richie Talevera returned the second half kickoff for a score. DeVaun Mitchell had a 6o yard touchdown run and Karsen Hohenstein tackled a scorpion in the endzone for a safety. Hohenstein had a big night with the safety and a pair of interceptions. Noah Castellanos had his best night as a Bronco with 3 quarterback sacks and a team high 8 solo tackles. Levi Derr had a pair of sacks and senior defensive lineman Niko Poole had a sack. Sergio Sandoval, DeVaun Mitchell, Dom Dondero and David Smith also had quarterback sacks.
