We’re moving forward. Not in the spirit of taking because you said so-in the spirit of PROPER GOVERNMENT TO GOVERNMEN relationships, that respect Tribal law and policy as resolution. BIA gave us the outline in their “Answer” to the latest appeal filed by the Shadows-BIA recommended dismissal of their appeal. THE SHADOWS MUST RESPECT THE MANY ANSWERS GIVEN-NO! Back off so THE REAL Tribe can provide services to the PEOPLE!

If they were committed to a peaceful transition they would recognize the results of the June election and allow the new tribal council to take their office. The two individuals are not “candidates,” they won the election. It is ridiculous that a non-elected employee of the tribe is now trying to punish them for showing up for work on their first day in office. The Big Pine Tribes Constitution clearly states that new office holders take office on July 1st. The old council is afraid of them and is going to use this as an excuse to say they are ineligible for office now. There is no infighting, just a group that will do anything to stay in power.

John-maybe it’s because you’ve been detached from the tribe for so long that you are so disconnected and not understanding OR maybe you just hear what you want to hear. Either way, it doesn’t change the fact that the appeal process needed to be concluded because appeals were filed. General Council (79 members) voted to do the election over based on actions of the Election Committee. The re-vote is July 24th. Members who have been elected cannot be sworn in and seated until ALL of this has taken place. Once the re-vote has taken place and the candidate has been elected and sworn in THEN they can resume their positions. YES, it may not “state” that in the Constitution, but that is where tribal custom and tradition comes in to play and when you’ve lived here your WHOLE life it becomes second nature. Your clients are making you look stupid and you are a fool for listening to them. Their hatred and vindictiveness have clouded their judgments and you are a sucker. The BIA has told you and your clients 3 TIMES that they recognize the Stone Faction and for some reason you people cannot get it through your heads! Your small group does NOT represent “the tribe”! Just because the rest of the tribal members aren’t loud and obnoxious doesn’t mean they’re not listening and paying attention. The people you don’t hear from frequently are super intelligent and in touch, even the “tweakers” who are real people with hearts and emotion’s. Your clients “holier than thou” attitude will get you and them nowhere. The people are speaking to you and you refuse to listen! YOUR clients initiated ALL of this! YOUR clients are the ones who can’t let it go and move on! Sounds like a YOU problem! Put your pride aside and do something productive. Trust me, NO ONE is scared of “them”. We are actually embarrassed and feel bad for you.

Custom and Tradition does not trump the plain written text of the Constitution. If it did, the Constitution would be meaningless. Please stop spreading lies and let the Tribe heal. It is not complicated.

In the non native world custom and tradition don’t trump John…not on the Rez. You lack understanding of custom and tradition. Every single tribal law decision has to include an analysis of custom and tradition. Geez man, you been in IP too long. You stop spreading lies!

This explains perfectly why you are not allowed to practice law. You do not understand basic legal concepts.

You should probably just stick to patent law with the non-natives. It’s pointless trying to talk sense into you.

Your own clients have never seated newly elected Council Members on July 1st, especially if appeals were submitted. Are you saying your clients have been doing it wrong for decades? They have also never allowed anyone to take office before being sworn in. John Bacoch, you are either too emotionally and personally involved with this issue to be a logical attorney or you are a liar just like your clients. Probably both.

It didn’t need to go beyond the first paragraph. Everything below is intended to accuse, agitate, dispute, and otherwise not be earnest in a peaceful transition. Please just stop the fighting and come together as a community. You continue to give indigenous people a black eye with all this fighting. Big Pine Tribe is a laughing stock compared to Bishop and Indy who actually generate revenue to further their tribes and further their future generations. Get it to gather BP tribe, it’s not too late to turn this around and bring prosperity to your tribe. Let’s make excuses for why the BP tribe flourishes!

This political drama is nothing new, it has been going on for decades, it is just in the public eye now more than ever. The members of the “Shadow Council” have been using positions of authority to bully and oppress Tribal Members for a VERY long time and the people, the REAL General Council, have had enough. Now we are using our vote to keep those bullies and terrorists out of positions of power and that type of change will always be uncomfortable.

I know bystanders just want BP Tribe to “move on” but the Tribe truly cannot move on until that group stops trying to aggressively take over the Tribe! They’re even still using the old stolen Tribal FB page. Why? So they can continue to spread misinformation, lies and stir up negative attention towards the Tribe. They need to stop already, General Council voted! They are the ones embarrassing the Big Pine Tribe.
