The PENTA Building Group to Host Safety Stand-Down Event Focused on Suicide Prevention, Sept. 27

WHO/WHAT:
The PENTA Building Group (PENTA) will temporarily halt construction at
the Limelight Mammoth Hotel job-site to conduct a Safety Stand-Down focused on suicide prevention.

The event, hosted in partnership with Limelight Hotels/The Little Nell Hotel Group, will welcome members of the Mammoth Lakes Police Department to discuss Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), the higher-than-average rate of suicides in the construction industry, how to recognize signs, as well as provide resources and support to help prevent it.

Approximately 50 construction workers will be in attendance, and awards will be given to those who’ve gone above and beyond in the realm of safety.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month and according to the Centers for Disease Control, the construction industry has one of the highest rates of suicide.

WHEN:
Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m.
*Please arrive between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. for safety gear and walk to event site.
