Smoke Advisory – Artesian Rx – Independence Area (January 27-30)

CAL FIRE, in coordination with local government agencies and LADWP, will begin the Artesian Prescribed Burn tomorrow in the Independence area.

Smoke may be visible from tomorrow through Saturday during prescribed burn operations.

Smoke impacts will be closely monitored throughout the burn period. Changes in the weather could postpone the burning operations.

Traffic Advisory

Motorists traveling along Highway 395 will see signage advising of the Artesian Prescribed Burn.

This is a planned operation—please do not call 911 for smoke in the area.

Prescribed burns are conducted to reduce hazardous vegetation and improve long-term wildfire resilience.
