KEY ISSUES/CONCERNS
Tropical Storm Hilary has finally made its way out of Mono County and the impacts were minimal. We have received no reports of flooding or damage to roads or highways within Mono County.
This will be the final Situation Report for the Tropical Storm Hilary response.
Thank you to the Mono County Fire Districts for pre-positioning fire apparatus throughout the County for immediate response as needed. Thank you to the MWTC Fire Department for having their swift water rescue team available. They are a valuable resource to the County.
The tropical storm banner will remain in place on the Ready Mono portal. Also, please complete the 2023 Storm Response Survey located on the Ready Mono portal. This information will be used to improve response in the future.
Sandbags Stationed in Each Community: Mono County has staged sandbags in each community for residents to use during the storm. Details on sandbag location information and maps for the staging areas are available here and on the READY Mono portal.
SHELTERING
No shelters were needed.
TRAFFIC/ROAD CONDITIONS
Hwy 6 and Benton Crossing Road is open with no restrictions. Caltrans is working to open Hwy 395 through southern Inyo County this evening. Death Valley NP remains closed due to severe flooding impacts. No ETA on opening.
