U.S. 6 and State Route 168 E Closed
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
U.S. 6 and State Route 168 E Closed
BISHOP – Caltrans has closed two highways in Inyo and Mono counties as the area continues to grapple with wet winter weather. U.S. 6 is closed from Wye Road in Bishop to the Nevada State Line due to heavy flooding. State Route 168 E is closed from Death Valley Road, approximately 2.5 miles east of Big Pine, to the junction of State Route 266 in Oasis. This closure is due to heavy snow, multiple vehicle spinouts, and jackknifed big rigs. Caltrans will post updates on these closures to its social media channels on Twitter and Facebook.
As of Monday night, the following highways are closed in Inyo and Mono counties:
- U.S. 395 from Gorge Road to Bridgeport
- State Route 158 S (South June Lake Loop) 2.4 miles west of June Lake Junction
- U.S. 6 from Bishop to the Nevada State Line
- State Route 168 E from Death Valley Road to State Route 266
