Mule’s Injuries Not Likely Human-Caused
A mule discovered with severe lacerations in the Bishop area does not appear to be the victim of assault.
Investigators with the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office have looked into the incident and, following their investigation, do not have any evidence of foul play. They will continue to investigate the matter, however at this time it does not appear to be a malicious incident.
The mule’s owner discovered the injuries on the morning of June 2 at their pasture off Brockman Lane in Bishop. The lacerations included a two-inch-wide gash across the throat and a 10-inch-long cut across the top of the animal’s right hip.
