MOSQUITO FOGGING EVENTS: INDEPENDENCE, ASPENDELL / CARDINAL VILLAGE 

Mosquito Fogging Planned for Independence, Aspendell, Cardinal Village Areas – Thursday, 7/3/2025 

Mosquito control crews will be fogging in the Independence, Aspendell / Cardinal Village areas early Thursday morning, July 3rd. Truck-mounted fogging equipment will be used to reduce high numbers of adult mosquitoes.

Fogging will take place between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM, weather permitting. Operations may  be delayed if it’s too windy or cold, as fogging is less effective under those conditions.

Protect Yourself from Mosquito Bites: 

• Wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts, especially during early morning and evening  hours.
• Use an EPA-registered insect repellent. Look for one of these active ingredients:
  • DEET
  • Picaridin
  • IR3535
  • Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus (OLE)
  • Para-menthane-diol (PMD) 

• Products with a higher concentration of active ingredients offer longer protection. Always  read and follow the directions on the label before using any repellent.
