Town Council Meeting Action Items – June 19, 2024
- Town Council received a presentation on the Sierra Jobs First Program, including an update on the Mammoth Main Base Redevelopment Project (“Evolving Main”), the Parcel Affordable Housing Project, and the new Town Hall Construction and Financing Project.
- Town Council conducted a Public Hearing and adopted multiple Resolutions ordering the levy and collection of assessments for several Assessment Districts. Town Council voted to approve by Resolution the Appropriations Limit, Investment Policy, and Annual Town Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25. Town Council also approved the Town of Mammoth Lakes Fiscal Year 2024-25 Master Fee Schedule.
- Town Council provided consensus draft Ballot Language for a proposed 2% Transient Occupancy Tax Increase and provided direction to staff regarding the Lease to Locals Program.

Town of Mammoth Lakes to Host 2024 Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at Crowley Lake
- The Town of Mammoth Lakes in partnership with Crowley Lake Fish Camp (CLFC) is proud to present the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at Crowley Lake on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
- The Independence Day fireworks show promises to be a bright and striking display of color in the Eastern Sierra night sky. This year’s custom designed “Sky Concert” will propel over 859 shells into the Eastern Sierra sky for a mesmerizing 17 minutes beginning at 9:15 p.m. (weather permitting). The show will simulcast live on KMMT 106.5 – tune in and enjoy!
- The Town of Mammoth Lakes would like to acknowledge L.D.C. for their generous donation to this generational and long-standing event at Crowley Lake.
- Admission to the Fourth of July Fireworks Show is $30.00 per vehicle (excludes camping), and $5.00 for walk-ins (children 12 & under are free). Celebrate Independence Day with live music before the show on the lawn from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. compliments of the “Felt Cutouts” with food and drinks available from the Pelican Grill.
- Please be aware that Crowley Lake water levels are higher than normal. First come – first served camping and shoreline parking will be limited. The North Landing entrance will remain closed until after the Holiday weekend.

Summer Flights to Mammoth Lakes Begin June 28!
- Skip summer traffic and save time by flying to Mammoth Lakes. Located just 12 minutes from Town, Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) makes it easy to access major airports for connecting flights. Fly Advanced Airlines directly to Carlsbad (CLD), or Los Angeles (HHR) and use the free shuttle service to easily access LAX (advanced reservations required).
- Advanced Airlines summer service will operate on Fridays and Sundays from June 28 through September 2 (Labor Day). There will be additional flights from Carlsbad and Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 3.
- United Airlines flights between Bishop and San Francisco (SFO) will run daily from July 1 through September 2. Service has been extended to Fridays and Sundays from September 6 to October 6, which will be open to booking soon including September 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29 and October 4 & 6. Dates and schedules subject to change without notice.
Summer Recreation Update
- The Whitmore Pool is now OPEN for full summer operations. The pool will be celebrating Parks and Recreation Month with FREE admission every Sunday starting in July! Visit the website for the summer schedule and admission fees.
- Purchase the 2024 Summer Play Membership and get unlimited access to the WHITMORE POOL AND the MAMMOTH RECZONE during scheduled Lap Swim, Public Swim, Open Play and Pick-up/Drop-In sessions. Membership excludes instructional programs and league play – only $45 for local K-12 students and $135 for adults!
- The Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross begins this Friday, June 21 and concludes on Sunday, June 30. The Mammoth Motocross is the summer’s best spectator sport where the energy and adrenaline are contagious.
- The 2nd annual Mammoth Feel Good Festival is in The Village from June 28-29. The event is Free and all ages welcome!
