In Memoriam: Maclain Rossi
Maclain Rossi passed on Friday, August 25, 2023. He was a gentle giant: quiet, kind, dependable, and the loyalest of friends. An avid muleman and packer, he loved to spend time in our local Eastern Sierra Mountains preferably near a stream or lake. “Mac” was born and raised in Bishop, California, and graduated from Palisade Glacier High School in June 2023. He participated in 4H, loved to play golf and cribbage; he grew up showing horses and mules, and earned the title World Champion Youth Packer at Bishop Mule Days, as well as American Mule Association: Champion Youth Packer.
Maclain was preceded in passing by grandparents Andy Rossi, Gary Rossi, and aunt Lorrie Bumgarner. He is survived by his parents Tami Rossi and Justin Rossi, brother Layton Rossi, grandparents Rick and Mary Pucci, and Robert Thorne, his uncle and aunt Chance and Holly Rossi, cousins Jasmin and Matt Mahoney, Tera Rossi, Cierra Rossi and partner Zayne Dishion, and Logan Rossi and his partner Carson Mull, uncle Dean Pucci, Uncle and Aunt Rick and Alana Pucci, and cousins Kedan, Ella, and Gavin Pucci.
There will be a celebration of life held at the barn across from Bishop Saddle Club on Highway 6 on September 17th at 10:00 am, and a potluck meal following.
Donations may be made in Maclain’s name to California Recreation Foundation/One Spade Youth Packers, attention: Ried Hopkins at Ried Hopkins Ranch 9765 Serra Way Kernville CA, 93238. 760 223-1621 [email protected]
