Northern Inyo Healthcare District (NIHD) is pleased to broadcast its upcoming Healthy Lifestyle Talk on Thursday, April 18, at 5:30 p.m. The talk, titled “Go with Your Gut: Understanding the Gut Microbiome and its Role in Health and Disease,” via Zoom and its YouTube Channel.

Elizabeth Haun, FNP-BC, one of NIHD’s Advanced Practice Providers working with the Rural Health Clinic team, leads this talk. The gut microbiome, a fascinating and complex population of microorganisms within the human gastrointestinal tract, is a key player in overall health and disease prevention. Ms. Haun will delve into the components of the gut microbiome, explore ways to improve it through diet, and discuss its profound impact on certain diseases.

The talk, scheduled for 5:30 p.m., will be easily accessible to all. It will be live-streamed on NIHD’s YouTube channel and on Zoom, ensuring that everyone can join from the comfort of home.
