Loma Prieta Pride Sierrans (formerly GLS) is excited to offer our 22nd Annual Death Valley National Park camping trip. We’d love to have you join us! Our campsite is located in the Furnace Creek area with views of the surrounding hills. It offers picnic tables, drinking water, dishwashing stations, flush toilets, a grill, nearby commercial showers, plenty of room for tents and on-site parking with space for a couple vans.

Death Valley is the home of the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe and are active partners with the park in preserving the land they have always called their homeland. Additionally, over 1,000 species of plants and over 300 species of birds call Death Valley home. Among the best adapted to this rugged environment are 50 plant species that are found nowhere else in the world. Each day we will experience the diversity of this unusual and special habitat. Death Valley has been recognized by the International Dark Sky Association as the darkest of the national parks, which ensures unparalleled views of the night sky.

This trip offers countless opportunities to explore and enjoy the vastness of this wondrous playground. We plan to offer a variety of guided day hikes including some light and easy to the more demanding depending on our group. For those seeking less hiking, please explore a self-guided tour at the Visitor Center, take a starlight stroll through the dunes or just enjoy the beautiful spring fed swimming pool at the neighboring Death Valley Oasis Resort. Our daily itinerary is not rigid and flexibility among participants will enhance our group experience.

Space is limited to 25 participants, so RSVP is required. Camping overnight with the group is also required; you cannot leave the group to stay in a hotel and rejoin the group the next day. All food and camping gear must be provided by each participant. Our traditional potluck will occur the second night of camping; optional, of course.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will open on January 31, 2024. Each participant must sign up individually by email.
