Celebrate National Park Week 2023!
Why do we celebrate National Park Week?
National Park Week (April 22- April 30, 2023) is a time to honor and celebrate the natural beauty, cultural history, and ecological diversity preserved within our nation’s park system. This event encourages individuals and families to explore, appreciate, and connect with these treasured public spaces, fostering a more profound sense of environmental stewardship. By doing so, we help ensure the parks’ continued protection and conservation for future generations.
National Park Week also highlights the National Park Service’s role in enhancing public health by offering recreational opportunities that encourage physical activity and mental well-being. Ultimately, the event serves as a reminder of the irreplaceable value that our national parks hold, both as symbols of national pride and as vital components of our planet’s delicate ecosystems.
