Caltrans to Host Tire Amnesty Day at Locations in Eastern Kern County
Who: Caltrans and Kern County
What: Caltrans is hosting a tire amnesty day on Saturday, December 10th at the Ridgecrest, Tehachapi, Mojave-Rosamond, and Boron Landfills and the Kern Valley Transfer Station. Loads should be properly tarped before transporting to the landfill. Per state law, transport only 9 tires per trip.
Dump Day events are organized to further the Caltrans goal of keeping our highways litter-free as part of the Clean California Initiative.
Important notes:
- Tires must have rims removed
- Limit 9 tires per trip
- Residential only
The following will not be accepted at the tire amnesty day:
- Commercial waste
- Earthmover/oversized tires
- Hazardous waste
When: Saturday, December 10th from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
