Bronco Football Season is Off to a Great Start in Fernley

The Broncos traveled to Fernley Friday night opening the 2023 season with a 7-0 win. Junior Nello Dondero scored the games only touchdown scooping up a Vaquero fumble and returning it 30 yards for a touchdown. Players of the game. Overall Wesley Jorgensen Senior Noseguard had a huge night with 11 total tackles including two sacks and two tackles for loss. Jorgensen forced the fumble that led to the games only score. Offensive Boden St. Marie Senior Quarterback and offensive captain accounted for 73 rushing yards and completed 5 passes for 51 yards against a very stout Fernley defense. Defensive Elijah Reynolds Junior linebacker and defensive captain made 7 solo tackles including 2 tackles for loss. Reynolds anchored the defense that kept Fernley off the scoreboard. Special Teams Milton Michel Junior punter handled the punting duties and kickoffs for the Broncos. The Bronco Defense led by Defensive Coordinator Rick Beall also had big games from Jason Mullner (7 total tackles, QB sack and TFL), Austin Powell (5 solo tackles), sophomore Malachi Orrick had a QB sack and a tackle for loss, and sophomore Richie Talavera had an interception. Next up for the Broncos is a road trip to Yosemite High School.
