We are certainly feeling very LUCKY today! We are LUCKY to have so many dedicated sponsors and volunteers supporting the upcoming Blake Jones Trout Derby. We are LUCKY so many people have already registered to participate. We are LUCKY that the Pleasant Valley Reservoir and Owens River are stocked full of beautiful Rainbow Trout. And we feel very LUCKY that the weather forecast is perfect for this coming weekend!
Did you know the Blake Jones Trout Derby is all about LUCK? Since it’s a blind bogey format, you don’t have to catch the most fish or the biggest fish to win the biggest prizes. You just have to catch a fish that matches the lucky blind bogey weight to be entered into the drawing for the awesome prizes. We also have a catch & release category for the lucky fishies that get put back in the water.

We’ll still take entries at the event on Saturday, but pre-registration means you don’t have to check-in at the fairgrounds before heading out to your favorite fishing hole.

SOME IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Day of Derby Registration Opens at 6am at the Tri-County Fairgrounds.
- Scales will be open 11am – 3pm. Final check-in/weigh-in is at 3pm.
- No late entries!
- Winners must be present to collect prizes.
- Bring Some Cash (no ATM on-site).
- Get tickets for additional drawings, basket raffles & a paddle board!
- Bishop Lions Club will be selling yummy hamburgers & soft drinks.
- Friends of the Fair will sell adult beverages.
The Blake Jones Trout Derby is organized by the Bishop Chamber of Commerce and supported by many co-sponsors including Inyo County, City of Bishop, LADWP, SCE, Berkley, and dozens of generous prize donors. Be sure to check out the sponsor board at the event!
