MISSING: Samantha Tomlinson
Samantha Tomlinson, a 37-year-old from Fresno, CA, went missing on December 3rd, 2021. She was last seen around 12 pm on that date at a Costco store located near Hemdon and Blackstone in Fresno after leaving her home and telling her roommate she would be back later. She put her German Shepard, Atlas, in his crate before leaving, and when she did not show up by the next day, her roommate called the police to report her missing.
Lt. John Papaleo, with the Fresno Police Department, told Dateline that “at this time there is nothing to indicate foul play.” Two security videos confirm that Samantha first met up with someone to sell a weight set, then is seen going to, checking out at, and leaving Costco. After she left, the trail goes cold – since then, there has been no activity on her bank account or credit cards.
Samantha is an avid hiker and loves the outdoors, and though she was not dressed for hiking or outdoor recreation, California Highway Patrol, Search and Rescue, and Forest Service Rangers have been searching in parts of Sequoia and Sierra National Parks.
Samantha’s friends and family have been vigilant in their search efforts and are determined to find her, asking for the help of communities in the area to keep an eye out and to come forward with any information they may have. Samantha’s mother Christie told Dateline, “We’re desperately looking for you, Samantha. So many people are searching. We just want you back safe.”
Samantha Tomlinson is 37 years old, with black hair and blue eyes, standing at 5’5″ and weighing 130 lbs. She has several tattoos; a black pawprint with purple flowers under her left elbow, the words “Be Free” with blackbirds and “Adventure Awaits” on her left forearm, as well as a semicolon below her left ear. She was last seen driving a 2002 Silver Honda Civic with CA license plates 6YQB398.
There is currently a $5,000 reward for information leading to her safe return. Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Fresno Police at (559) 621-7000 or the Fresno County Sheriff at (559) 600-3111.
