SUMMARY:NIHD Healthy Lifestyle Talk: The Men’s Health Check-In
DESCRIPTION:Northern Inyo Healthcare District invites community members to attend a free Healthy Lifestyle Talk\, The Men’s Health Check-In: Primary Care\, Prevention & Urology\, on Thursday\, June 18\, at 6 p.m. \nThe presentation will be held at the Birch Street Annex\, 2957 Birch Street in Bishop\, near the Jill Kinmont Boothe School. The event is free and open to the public. \nFamily Medicine Physician Dr. Stacey Brown and Urologist Dr. Clayton Davis will discuss common men’s health concerns\, recommended screenings\, preventive care\, and when to seek medical attention. Attendees will also learn practical steps men can take to support their health and well-being at every stage of life. \n“Many of the most serious health conditions affecting men can be prevented\, managed\, or treated more successfully when detected early\,” said Dr. Brown. “This presentation is an opportunity to talk openly about men’s health and help people better understand the resources available to them.” \nTopics will include preventive screenings\, primary care\, prostate health\, urologic concerns\, and healthy lifestyle habits that can help reduce the risk of disease and improve quality of life. \nDr. Davis said regular checkups and screenings play an important role in maintaining long-term health. \n“Too often\, men delay care until a problem becomes difficult to ignore\,” Dr. Davis said. “We want to encourage men to take an active role in their health and understand when it is time to seek medical advice.” \nHealthy Lifestyle Talks are part of Northern Inyo Healthcare District’s ongoing commitment to community education and wellness. She has lived in many places across the U.S.\, including Hawaii where she learned most of her Ukulele skills. Her experiences include performing with full Jazz bands in New Jersey\, collaborative gigs at various hotels in Las Vegas\, NV\, such as the Mandalay Bay and Virgin Hotel\, and numerous Open Mic events. In 2021\, after suffering a traumatic injury from a rock climbing accident\, she became motivated to dedicate herself full time to her musical passions. She has already been writing her own songs since 2014\, and continues to find inspiration from the mountains and her love for the great outdoors.
