In 2021\, after suffering a traumatic injury from a rock climbing accident\, she became motivated to dedicate herself full time to her musical passions. She has already been writing her own songs since 2014\, and continues to find inspiration from the mountains and her love for the great outdoors. The event is free and open to the public. \nFamily Medicine Physician Dr. Stacey Brown and Urologist Dr. Clayton Davis will discuss common men’s health concerns\, recommended screenings\, preventive care\, and when to seek medical attention. Attendees will also learn practical steps men can take to support their health and well-being at every stage of life. \n“Many of the most serious health conditions affecting men can be prevented\, managed\, or treated more successfully when detected early\,” said Dr. Brown. “This presentation is an opportunity to talk openly about men’s health and help people better understand the resources available to them.” \nTopics will include preventive screenings\, primary care\, prostate health\, urologic concerns\, and healthy lifestyle habits that can help reduce the risk of disease and improve quality of life. \nDr. Davis said regular checkups and screenings play an important role in maintaining long-term health. \n“Too often\, men delay care until a problem becomes difficult to ignore\,” Dr. Davis said. “We want to encourage men to take an active role in their health and understand when it is time to seek medical advice.” \nHealthy Lifestyle Talks are part of Northern Inyo Healthcare District’s ongoing commitment to community education and wellness. Somewhere between families packing up their cars in pursuit of sunny beach days and businesses filling up our inboxes with emails warning us ‘Don’t miss out on this Memorial Day sale’\, we forget to pause and reflect on what this day means for so many. \nFor the families and friends of our fallen heroes\, the real meaning of Memorial Day is known all too well. For them\, this day is filled with a mix of emotions as they grieve their loved ones and honor their memory. While these families feel their loss every day\, Memorial Day marks a solemn\, but special day where the rest of our country stops and remembers with them. \nAs we begin this Memorial Day\, take time to stop and remember those who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom and collectively mourn with the family members left behind. To those of you remembering a loved one today\, our thoughts and prayers are with you. \nThe Big Pine American Legion Auxiliary Unit 457 invites the community to join in a Memorial Day Service on Monday\, May 25 at 11:00 at the Veteran’s Memorial Triangle on the corner of Highways 395 and 168 to honor all veterans. The day will begin with placing flags on our veterans headstones starting at 8:00 at Crocker Cemetery and 8:30 at Woodman Cemetery.
